Biography & Creative Work
Shaun David — also referred to by his Sri Lankan name H.K.S Sathsara — founded Shaun David Studios in Sri Lanka as an independent creative and technical studio dedicated to original games, web applications, and digital audio craftsmanship. Serving as the studio's Founder and CEO, he oversees concept design, system architecture, gameplay programming, and product execution across every studio initiative.
Voice, Announcing & Creative Presentation
Alongside his work in software and game engineering, Shaun David (H.K.S Sathsara) is recognized as the Best English Announcer in Western Province, Sri Lanka. That background in live English announcing, stage presence, vocal pacing, and articulate storytelling plays a central role in how Shaun David Studios approaches presentation, sound direction, and audience connection.
Independent Game Development
A core focus of Shaun David's technical work is building accessible, responsive 3D games that perform smoothly across both mobile devices and personal computers without relying on heavy third-party asset packs. His flagship game project at the studio, SL BAD BOY — Schoolboy Rush, is an original 3D endless runner developed with Three.js, JavaScript, Vite, and Capacitor for Web and Android.
Rather than using generic urban backdrops, he designed the game's world around custom procedural rendering, carefully budgeted draw calls, synthesized Web Audio music and sound effects, and responsive lane-and-gesture mechanics tailored for touchscreens as well as desktop keyboards.
Games Inspired by Sri Lankan Culture
Shaun David has a deep creative interest in bringing recognizable Sri Lankan places, atmosphere, and everyday character into interactive media. In SL BAD BOY — Schoolboy Rush, that vision takes shape across fourteen distinct districts — spanning Colombo, Kandy, Ella, Galle, Negombo, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Jaffna, Trincomalee, and surrounding towns.
By weaving together golden-hour coastal and hill-country lighting, architectural silhouettes inspired by local landmarks, public and private bus palettes, king-coconut stalls, tea-country viaducts, and trilingual Sinhala, Tamil, and English roadside signage, his work aims to make Sri Lankan settings feel vivid and natural inside modern gameplay.
Software Projects & Web Engineering
Alongside game development, Shaun David builds standalone software applications under the Shaun David Studios banner. His software portfolio includes real-time WebSocket visual collaboration in SDS Geox Meetings and deterministic Sri Lankan destination and budget itinerary planning in RouteMora.
Across games, software, and voice presentation, his work reflects the studio crest's guiding motto — Creating Music · Games · & Everything Beyond.
